Daisy Lefler will long be remembered as Norfolk's  consummate sports fan.  But she was much more than a fan.  For 30 years she was a dedicated organizer, manager and administrator of both hockey and softball teams.

Daisy served on the executive of the Simcoe Minor Softball Association for 10 years, and on the executive of  Simcoe and District Minor Hockey Association for years, including one year as president.

She co-founded Simcoe Minor Hockey Mothers, which raises funds for local teams through memorabilia sales.

Putting her money where her heart was, for 20 years Daisy also sponsored many softball and hockey teams under the business name "D & H Janitorial Service."  Two of her softball teams -- the 1976 OSAS Bantams and 1979 Junveniles -- won All-Ontario Championships.

Daisy was inducted into our Sports Hall of Recognition in 1999.
