Inductees | Myrle M. Raymer

Ladies softball pioneer Myrle Hoover Raymer coached ladies fastball teams from 1927 to 1971 -- notably the Simcoe Stars for 10 years 1960-71,  and before them the Sarnia Belles -- to a total of eight PWSU and OASA provincial championships.

Recalling his days with the Stars at his Norfolk County Sports Hall of Recogntion Induction in 1998, Myrle said:  "We won (the championship) so often, they told us to keep the trophy."

Myrle also served on the executive of the now defunct intermediate Simcoe Chiefs hockey club.

Myrle was similarly honored by his home town when he was inducted into the Sarnia-Lambton Sports Hall of Recognition in 1989.

Myrle was inducted into our Hall of Recognition in 1998.
